Hosting
The GM installs the app, signs in and presses Host Game. That computer runs the session and holds the map, characters, dice and log.
Joining
Players open play.aetherboard.app in any browser, find the game in the list and press Join. They don’t need an account or the app.
Playing over the internet
Your game appears in the server browser, and players connect through our service. You don’t forward a port, and your home address stays hidden. A private game isn’t listed, so you send people its code instead.
At the table
- For a map, upload a picture or use a blank grid, then drag out walls and doors.
- The host works out what each player can see and sends them only that.
- The host’s computer rolls every die, so nobody can change a roll in their browser.
- Character sheets are built from the game system, and every number is calculated for you.
Saved games
Each saved game is one file on the host’s computer. Save a copy downloads it, and Restore from a file puts it back on any computer. Members can also save a copy to the cloud.
We don’t store your game unless you save it to the cloud. When players join through our service, what they send passes through it to reach you and isn’t stored. See the privacy policy.
What you need
Hosting needs the app on Windows or Linux and a free account. Players need only a browser. The app is free to download.
